This DISTANCE
LEARNING course will qualify you to register as a Supervisor under SSSC
Phase 2 requirements
Applicants must
be qualified to a minimum of HSC SVQ 3 or one of the alternative
qualifications listed under the SSSC Qualifications Criteria for adult
residential care and housing support services
Content: 2 Units at Health and
Social Care SVQ Level 4

teams to support a quality provision
· Take
responsibility for the continuing professional development of self and
others

Induction (two hours at workplace)

The model described above is
suitable for staff who have been in a supervisory position for a
minimum of 6 months and have previous
experience of SVQ methodology
Staff with less than 6 months
experience will also be required to attend one full day course to introduce core theory

Staff without SVQ experience
will be given an additional 2 hours induction at their workplace
(applies to both experienced and inexperienced supervisors)
* Developing and Leading Teams
Course Content: - the values and aims of leading and supervising
staff - understanding and supporting reflective practice - theories of
developing practice - delegation for development - an introduction to
current approaches to leadership - conflict management techniques -
specific communication methods in leading teams
